I am traveling back through time and space, to home. It is Chinese new year and I am going home. No firecrackers. But familiar faces of family.
I was talking to the French CEO of my company, I said is there anything I could do for you while I am in China, your largest market and where you feel that you are being bullshitted to but you could not point your figures at something, you could not figure them out.
Everyone love and hate that gigantic market where mystery and riddle still dominate any effort of communications.
Yes, you take my card, use my name, do whatever you want, report to me. Good. You sounds like the Chinese you are trying to understand now. Unstructured, talk the talk, you know things are happening everyday. Everybody running around, nobody stops and thinks. Too much money to be make. Nobody asks the question of being happy.
So I am going and will find a way to access this blog and post some.
Happy New Year, everyone!

Yes, I am going to Beijing. And I love it too. I was there for almost 6 years before heading to the US....
Will write up about my trip.

I'm Chinese too, albeit a Peranakan Chinese or Straits-Born-Chinese.
I celebrate CNY too, but I guess, the rites and rituals that Overseas Chinese observe are rather dated to the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Anyway, we would welcome you to blog more often
